FULL BODY HARNESSES The most effective way to prevent injury or death in the event of a fall is to wear a full body climbing harness as part of a total fall protection system. Harnesses are engineered to dispurse impact forces evenly among shoulders, torso, buttocks, and legs. When using climbing safety harnesses, be aware of these guidelines: Only the back dee ring may be used for fall protection. Side, front and chest dee rings should be used for positioning only. Shoulder dee rings should be used for retrieval only. All straps must be secure before utilizing the harness. Never attach more than one snap to a dee ring.
