VERTICAL LIFELINE ROPE Ropes used for vertical lifelines require a minimum breaking strength at the termination of at least 22kN (5,000 lbs.). This means that ropes with spliced terminations must have a breaking strength of at least 27kN (6,000 lbs.). Lifelines should be made from synthetic rope, usually nylon, Poly Pro, or Poly Dac.
